Canadian Institute of Policy Studies

VISION . IDEAS . INSIGHTS

Canadian Institute of Policy Studies (CIPS) is a national educational, non-partisan, non-profit organization devoted to independent research and innovative policy solutions. It aims to improve Canadians’ quality of life through sound foreign, economic, environmental and social policy at the local, regional, national and international levels.

CIPS seeks to broaden the parameters of public policy debate by encouraging focus on equality, dignity, justice, peace and security for everyone. Toward that goal, the Institute will strive to achieve greater involvement of the intelligent, concerned public in questions of policy based on these objectives so that the policy helps Canada to thrive in excellence.

It is a research and educational institute - a think tank - whose mission is to formulate and promote sound policies through the application of independent research and analysis to major economic, moral and social issues affecting the quality of life of Canadians in all regions of the country. It will take a global perspective by considering the impact of international factors on Canada and bringing insights from other jurisdictions to the discussion of Canadian public policy.

CIPS’ aim is to reach out to – and benefits from the inputs of – eminent policy makers, political leaders, legislators, jurisprudents, policy analysts and researchers, the academia, media and journalists, professionals, businesspersons, as well as members of the general public.
